Meditative Voids
My “Meditative Void” paintings are windows of concentrated thought. I use the title to suggest a Zen and Śūnyatā (Sanskrit)—like understanding. Meditation is the catalyst of deep thought. The void is an endless area in the mind where the self can linger inwardly. The viewer perceives the void without intent to achieve it, but to become one with it. The more concentration that is centered, the deeper you go. These vast spaces express a sense of freedom in the mind.
